Hello there, he was an amazing man and loved his life in gumusluk. He lived with his dog alterparmak and had a place where artists can come to gumusluk and stay. I stayed there several times. Danny I believe passed away in UK where he was having his treatments for his illness. He was the most relaxed and generous person I've met and I miss him very much!

Hello Wolf, a bit late but I have just found your email following the death of my brother Danny Koplowitz. Jan was my father, and I would be interested in hearing from you if at all possible.

To dear Little Ina, Daniel's sister. I don't suppose you would remember me dear Ina but My father, Reg Smith and my mother were friends with Mandy and Jan when you lived in Nottinghill. We visited your house often and I feel sure you personally came over to us where we lived in Streatham - but you were young and may not remember. Arnold came to visit us too. Jan worked in the same factory as my dad; our pet name for him was 'Johnny.' I still have items that Johnny gave me all those years back. I remember your little brother when he was just a toddler barely able to talk. I traced him on the internet a few years back and began a correspondence - then abruptly he stopped writing. I heard recently of his sad passing. I feel so sorry and although it is late, may I send you my deepest sympathy. I do hope you will read this and perhaps contact me. All my love, dear.

He looked after us all musicians in Gumusluk international music festival. I only spent about a month and a bit in total with him but I still think about him. Very chilled out person but inspired me so much as a human being! Generous soul.

Hello, I knew Danny for more than 20 years and visited in many times in Turkey both in Istanbul and later Gumusluk. I am writing a book about my life in Turkey and want to include a chapter on Danny. I would be very interested to contact his sister Ina. If anyone can pass my e mail address to her I would be very grateful. It is [email protected]. Thanks.

I have now published my book Twelve Camels For Your Wife (on Amazon) which includes a chapter on Danny's life. It has 60+ excellent reviews on Amazon. I was proud to be his friend and I hope I have charted our relationship (crazy at it was) in a sensitive way. Here is a link to the Amazon site. tinyurl.com/3nstyehy

I met Daniel at the Decremen Hotel in Sile Turkey in 1991. He told me he had wrote a book called Under a Crescent Moon. He was playing guitar at the hotel and I think he was a friend of the owner Ufuk. 33 years on I’m on holiday in Turkey, just finished the book (a great read) and just found out online about his untimely death. RIP Daniel
